Good morning, friends and followers, and I hope it finds you well. Today I have chosen to complete the first three-story anthology, Diner of Dread I. The Diner of Dread series will consist of short stories, three course meals, as it were, beginning with some of my older works that have found favorable reception. Everyone reading this blog knows that I have been “blocked,” (writers will understand) for the best part of a decade, and am trying to get the mojo back. Until that happens, I will keep steeping myself in the lore.
Today’s story, Heart on her Sleeve, can be found by clicking the Diner of Dread I tab in the upper left corner. It is the story of a young lady who is all about paying back what she owes with interest. I suppose, given my style and chosen genres, that I should offer a disclaimer in several places where it’s hard to overlook. So be it. Here it is:
I write in a gritty style that includes all the warts and pimples of adult life in the prose. I don’t write porn, or as it’s fashionable to call it these days, “erotica,” but most of my stories contain some measure of violence and the foul language that goes hand-in-hand with it. If this is more than you feel comfortable with, you might want to move on. You’ve been warned.
Now, if you can get past that chilling warning and aren’t afraid of a few words that your grandmother would only use in private, dig right in and enjoy. I’d love to know what you think!
